Application Scope
1. Antiseptic and Fresh – keeping: Used in meat products, pickled vegetables, canned foods and baked goods to inhibit microorganisms and extend the shelf life.
2. Acid Regulator: Added to beverages, candies, beer, etc. to optimize the taste and promote fermentation (such as beer saccharification).
3. Dairy Product Enhancement: Used in yogurt and ice – cream to enhance flavor and antibacterial properties.
4. Disinfectant: Lactic acid vapor is used for air disinfection (wards, laboratories).
5. Medical Materials: Polylactic acid (PLA) is used to make surgical sutures (which can be degraded in the body) and bone adhesives.
6. Pharmaceutical Preparations: Used as a pH regulator, cosolvent and anti – fatigue drug ingredient.
7. Skin Care and Moisturizing: L – lactic acid, as a mild α – hydroxy acid (AHA), is used as a moisturizer in skin care products.
8. Hair Care Adjustment: Adjusts the pH value of shampoos and conditioners to enhance hair luster.
9. Bath Products: Added to soaps to prevent cracking and improve the moisturizing property of shower gels.
10. Feed Additive: Promotes digestion in piglets (weight gain of 15%) and inhibits pathogenic bacteria (such as E. coli).
11. Environmentally Friendly Materials: Polylactic acid is used to make degradable agricultural films and slow – release pesticide carriers (non – toxic).
12. Silage Preservation: Used as a forage storage agent and preservative.
