Application Scope
1. Acetic Acid Derivatives: Mainly used for the synthesis of acetic anhydride, acetic esters, terephthalic acid, vinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, cellulose acetate, ketene, chloroacetic acid, halogen – substituted acetic acids, etc.
2. Pharmaceuticals: As a solvent and pharmaceutical raw material, acetic acid is mainly used for the production of penicillin G potassium, penicillin G sodium, procaine penicillin, antipyretic tablets, sulfadiazine, sulfamethoxazole, norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin, acetylsalicylic acid, phenacetin, prednisone, caffeine, etc.
3. Various Intermediates: Acetates, sodium diacetate, peracetic acid, etc.
4. Pigments and Textile Printing and Dyeing: Mainly used for the production of disperse dyes and vat dyes, as well as textile printing and dyeing processing.
5. Ammonia Synthesis: In the form of copper – ammonia acetate solution, it is used for the purification of synthesis gas to remove a small amount of CO and CO₂ contained therein.
6. In Photography: As a formula for developers.
7. In Natural Rubber: As a coagulant.
8. In Construction: As an anticoagulant.
9. In addition, it is also widely used in water treatment, synthetic fibers, pesticides, plastics, leather, coating metal processing, and the rubber industry.
